Email support

Sunshine Coast Trail Planner is built and supported by Leah Gerber. Email sct@milecheckapp.com.

Emergency: Call 911. This inbox, the trail feed and family follow pages do not monitor emergencies or send automatic location updates.

App problem

Email sct@milecheckapp.com with:

  • What you expected and what happened.
  • The steps that led to the problem.
  • Your iPhone model, iOS version, app version and build number.
  • Whether you had cell service, Wi-Fi or airplane mode on.
  • A screenshot or screen recording if it shows the problem.

The app version and build number are at the bottom of the More tab. Remove names, messages and exact coordinates from a screenshot unless they are needed to explain the problem.

Wrong trail data

Email sct@milecheckapp.com with the marker kilometre, direction of travel, date observed and what needs correcting. A photo or GPX is useful when you already have one.

Separate what you saw from what someone told you. Water reports should include the date because a source flowing in spring can be dry later.

Official closures, hut maintenance and trail policy come from the qathet Parks and Wilderness Society. The app is independent.

Community posts and plans

  • Delete your own update from the feed. The server copy and attached photos are removed after the app reconnects and syncs. A cached photo can remain available for up to 24 hours, and a post already synchronized to another phone can remain in that phone’s local storage.
  • Cancel your own hut-night plan from its hut card or trip plan. It is removed after the cancellation syncs.
  • Use Report or block on another hiker's post. Reporting hides that item on your phone and sends it for review. Blocking hides that hiker on your phone.
  • Turn off family sharing to revoke your follow link after the change syncs.

For harassment, unsafe content or a report that needs context, email sct@milecheckapp.com with the post category, approximate date and marker kilometre if shown. Do not publish private information in a feed reply.

Privacy and deletion

Read the privacy policy for the full list of local and synchronized data.

Email sct@milecheckapp.com for an access, correction or server-deletion request. The app has no accounts, so your email address may not identify a record by itself. Include the post, plan or family-link details you can see on your phone.

Location or recording problem

  • Check that iPhone Location Services are on.
  • Map position needs location permission while using the app.
  • Background trip recording needs the additional background location permission.
  • GPS can work in airplane mode, but a fresh fix can take longer under trees, beside cliffs or after a cold start.
  • Stop the recording before deleting it. Export the GPX first if you want to keep a copy.

If the position is clearly wrong, do not use it for a safety decision. Record the time and screenshot the map before closing the app if it is safe to do so.

TestFlight and purchases

The app is currently a TestFlight beta. There is no paid product, subscription or Restore Purchases control in the beta.

TestFlight access and build availability are controlled by Apple. Email sct@milecheckapp.com if a test link fails or the build no longer opens.

Before relying on the app

The route line, water records and access records include known gaps. Read the source and verification date shown in the app. Carry backup navigation and current emergency information.

Transport schedules, fares, fire restrictions and closures can change after an app build. Check the provider or official trail source before leaving.
